KCCB partnered with the Tennessee Division of Forestry to host Environmental Conservation Field Days for the 4th grade students in Cocke County. We had 5 schools participate with a total of 241 students visiting.
Students heard presentations about all types of environmental and conservation topics from fighting wildfires, making your home fire wise, erosion, pollution, making paper, invasive species, and so much more. Students rotated through eleven stops and enjoyed presentations from speakers from local organizations and across the state.
Many thanks to the Tennessee Division of Forestry, Soil Conservation, UT Ag Extension, Domtar, Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation, Panther Creek State Park, Tennessee Department of Transportation, Appalachian Chestnut Project, and Newport City Parks and Recreation for all their help!
