The annual Douglas Lake Great American Clean-up event, which was held on March 29th, 2014, was attended by KCCB board members, NJROTC cadets, and community volunteers.  This crew collected 145 bags of trash and 16 discarded tires from a two tenths mile section of lake front.

A second lake clean-up effort was held at the Rankin Bottoms area on Saturday, April 12th.  The amount of trash collected there has not yet been determined.

Also on April 12th, KCCB’s bi-annual electronics recycling event was held.  NJROTC cadets helped receive and sort 10,123 pounds of electronics, appliances, computer components, and televisions.  These were turned over to Five R Processors for recycling.  KCCB Exectutive Director, Tim Berkel said, “This represents over 5 tons of trash kept out of our landfill.”
